Schedule - Monday- Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm (in-person in Tacoma, WA)
Full Time - starting pay range $85,000-$110,000 annually based on experience

Summary

  • Make customer service for both internal and external customers a top priority
  • Perform a variety of HR services with emphasis on Team Member relations, general guidance and support to Managers regarding company programs and policies, succession planning, job descriptions, and other general HR administration activities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Managers and Team Members regarding HR related issues, concerns, and disputes.
  • Conduct Team Member exit interviews and provide feedback to appropriate Managers.
  • Promote a positive organizational culture and high Team Member engagement.
  • Support the Team Member performance review process, providing guidance to Supervisors and Managers on performance evaluations to include support in handling performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating HR training programs to improve skillsets, knowledge, and performance of Supervisors and Managers.
  • Assist in administering compensation programs and Team Member benefits.
  • Support the annual compensation review and administration process.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws, workplace safety regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Manage and track of all company of leave of absence and maintenance of all leave of absence policies, procedures, and documents.
  • Assist in implementing HR initiatives and programs that align with organizational goals and values.
  • Assist VP of HR with developing and maintaining HR policies, HR procedures, Team Member handbook, HR SOP’s, etc.
  • Assist in the administration of Company succession planning efforts.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 or 4-year degree preferred and SHRM-CP, PHR certification required
  • 5+ years of work experience in the HR field preferred
  • Functional knowledge of HR laws, regulations, principles, and practices required
  • Functional knowledge of payroll, employee benefits administration, options, rules, and regulations preferred
  • Customer service-oriented approach; respond to requests with a sense of urgency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the company
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
  • Strong people skills, recognize when to use formal or informal approach, not easily intimidated, accessible, ability to say “no” in a firm but polite manner
  • High degree of honesty, ethics, and integrity with prior work experience handling confidential information preferred
  • Willing to “think outside of the box” and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to objectively coach Team Members and Supervisors/Managers through difficult and emotional issues
  • Ability to research and analyze various types of data
  • Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve issues by using consistent and practical judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to conduct classroom style training in person and via Zoom or other like virtual technology
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite including Outlook) required
  • Able to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout the facility
  • Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies on a frequent basis
